Nigerian businessman, real estate developer, and politician, Babatunde Gbadamosi has cleared the air on reports of Babalakin and Co, lawyers to Redbrick Homes International Limited, Amen City Ltd, Ashlead Estates, and Ms Folasade Balogun, over the ownership of Amen Estate and Amen Estate Phase 2, Eleko Beach Road, Ibeju-Lekki.

Gbadamosi had earlier in a statement, dated 19 September 2024, been accused of making false claims over the ownership of Redbrick Homes International Limited, Amen City Ltd, Ashlead Estates.

The lawyers to Redbrick Homes International Limited, Amen City Ltd, Ashlead Estates, and Ms Folasade Balogun , said in a statement that Gbadamosi voluntarily relinquished his entire shareholding interests in those companies, following his voluntary resignation as a director in those companies since July 2021.

They backed up their statement with the publication of Gbadamosi’s letter of voluntary resignation dated 1st July 2021.

According to the law firm, “His (Gbadamosi) directorship resignations and shareholding relinquishment have been duly filed at the Corporate Affairs Commission and are available to the public for verification.”

Reacting, the Lagos-based business tycoon, Gbadamosi, faulted Babalakin and Co’s claims.

Gbadamosi explained that a document authored by Babalakin recently came to his attention which refuted the CAVEAT EMPTOR he recently circulated regarding the dissipation of marital assets accruing to the 21-year-long marriage between him and Mrs. Folasade Balogun Gbadamosi, describing it as meaningless.

“A document authored by Babalakin and Co has recently come to my attention, which purports to rebut the CAVEAT EMPTOR I recently circulated regarding the dissipation of marital assets accruing to the 21-year-long marriage between myself and Mrs. Folasade Balogun Gbadamosi.

“In 2018, unknown to me, Mrs. Folasade Balogun Gbadamosi opened a secret account for Redbrick Homes International Ltd at Keystone Bank. She forged my signature to open the account.

“At mediation, having discovered the existence of this illicit account, I asked her about it. Her lawyer, Bayo Adaralegbe, threatened to “go after” me for signing for Sade with her permission, when I registered the company in 2003, because she was not in Nigeria and the registration needed to be done to complete the purchase of the land at Amen Estate.

“My desire for peace and a disloyal lawyer forced me to be silent on it. I was to later discover through a police investigation, that as of June 2022, Mrs. Folasade Balogun Gbadamosi had laundered ₦2.8b of company funds through this illicit account.

“Based on her failure to disclose this important fact at mediation, I opted, upon legal advice, to rescind the mediated agreement which had resulted in my resignation, and unknown to me, the immediate appointment of her lawyer, Bayo Adaralegbe of Babalakin and Co, to the board of the same Redbrick Homes International Ltd as a director!

“The validity of the mediation settlement used to defraud and steal the companies from me is the subject of ongoing litigation and because she knows no court, by public policy, would allow the fraudulent agreement to stand. She wants to quickly sell off the marital assets before the court voids the agreement.

That is why that document she’s waving about is meaningless. It was obtained by her DECEPTION and FRAUDULENT suppression of vital information from me at the mediation.

“Mrs. Folasade Balogun Gbadamosi has avoided personally responding to the CAVEAT EMPTOR, which I issued because she is afraid of going on the record publicly to be caught in a LIE, as she does habitually, even before courts and under oath, hence her resorting to getting her legal representatives to respond with a tissue of half-truths.”

Ifedayo Agoro is a former oil and gas executive and the founder of Diary of a Naija Girl (DANG), an online forum empowering women in Nigeria through the transformative power of storytelling. DANG provides a platform for women to share their experiences, challenges, and successes, fostering a supportive community that encourages dialogue and growth. Ifedayo’s background in the corporate world, coupled with her passion for women’s empowerment, has fueled DANG’s mission to inspire and uplift women across Nigeria, making her a prominent figure in the realm of online empowerment and storytelling.

Upon the canvas of her life, Ifedayo painted tales of triumph over adversity, melodies of hope in the face of despair. Born to humble beginnings, she danced with the shadows of doubt, but her spirit soared with the eagles, refusing to be shackled by the chains of circumstance.

In the labyrinth of her mind, Ifedayo envisioned a sanctuary where women could seek solace, share their stories, and find the strength to rewrite their destinies. Thus, she donned the mantle of a storyteller, wielding words as her weapons of choice.

The journey of Ifedayo Agoro was a tapestry of twists and turns, each thread intertwined with the next, creating a mosaic of life’s myriad colors. From the boardrooms of corporate giants to the bustling streets of Lagos, she traversed the landscapes of privilege and poverty, never forgetting her roots, never forsaking her dreams.

It was on a balmy evening, under the canopy of a starlit sky, that Ifedayo breathed life into her vision. With a click of a button, Diary of a Naija Girl was born, a digital haven where voices once silenced found resonance, where whispers grew into roars, and where courage was contagious.

Through the pixelated pages of DANG, Ifedayo invited women from all walks of life to share their truths, to peel back the layers of societal norms and reveal the raw beauty beneath. From tales of love and loss to stories of resilience and revolution, each narrative was a testament to the indomitable spirit of womanhood.

As the digital embers of DANG ignited a wildfire of change across Nigeria, Ifedayo stood at the helm, her heart a beacon of hope guiding lost souls back to shore. With every click, every share, every comment, she felt the pulse of a nation awakening to its own power.

But behind the veil of her online persona, Ifedayo wrestled with her own demons. The weight of expectations, the burden of responsibility, they threatened to consume her, to extinguish the flame that had ignited her journey. Yet, in the depths of her despair, she found strength in the stories of others, in the echoes of their triumphs ringing in her ears.

It was in the quiet moments, amidst the chaos of life, that Ifedayo discovered the true meaning of her journey. For it was not the accolades or the recognition that fueled her passion, but the knowledge that she was making a difference, one story at a time.

And so, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Ifedayo Agoro soared above the clouds, her wings unfurled in defiance of the storms that once threatened to consume her. With unwavering resolve, she continued to chart the course of her destiny, a beacon of hope for women everywhere.

For in the end, Ifedayo knew that the power to change the world lay not in the hands of the few, but in the hearts of the many, in the collective voice of those brave enough to speak their truth, to embrace their flaws, and to stand tall in the face of adversity.

And as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting its golden glow upon the earth, Ifedayo Agoro smiled, knowing that her story was far from over. For with each sunrise, a new chapter awaited, and with each dawn, the promise of a brighter tomorrow beckoned.
